Sprinter presents quality award to city leisure centre

Olympic sprinter Darren Campbell has presented a Lothians leisure centre with an award.

Quest, the UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure, has recognised Mayfield Leisure Centre’s commitment to quality.

The award places Mayfield Leisure Centre in a group which have shown a decade’s worth of commitment to the scheme.

Darren, who presented the accolade to Jim Learmonth of Midlothian Council, said: “I would like to congratulate Mayfield Leisure Centre on winning this Quest award.

“I strongly believe that the whole community should have accessible, affordable and high quality sport and leisure facilities on their doorstep. In working hard to continuously improve their offering, Mayfield Leisure Centre is doing its bit to encourage and inspire people to get more active.”
