Sparks fly for electric film

A film billed as “The Maltese Falcon meets The IT Crowd”, which stars singer Fish, is to be screened at the Cameo Cinema on Thursday.

Electric Man tells the story of an Edinburgh comic store which will be turned into a kebab shop unless its owners can raise £5000 for repairs.

They find a copy of the rare and valuable Electric Man issue 1 in their shop, but have to fight off a host of other greedy collectors, who all want to lay their hands on the comic book.

The film, which was nominated for last year’s Bafta Scotland New Talent awards, was written by Scott Mackay and David Barras.

The Cameo screening is part of the Made in Edinburgh season.
