Sir Ben Kingsley drops into Rosyth dockyard

Sir Ben Kingsley surprised aircraft carrier workers when he paid a visit to Rosyth dockyard.

The Oscar-winning star of Gandhi – who was visiting to learn more about the site’s history – was also given a guided tour of the new aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, which is currently under construction.

Alex Keatings, heavy handling engineer with construction firm Babcock, said: “I did a double-take when I saw him. The last person you expect to meet on a cold morning in Rosyth is a Hollywood star.

“He was really interested to learn more about the work we’re doing.”
