Shortlisted inn toasts latest rating

A CANALSIDE pub in Ratho is toasting success after being shortlisted by a leading magazine in a scheme to find the best gastropub in the UK.

The Bridge Inn appears in a top 50 compiled by London-based men’s lifestyle magazine ShortList, alongside the Sheep Heid in Duddingston and the Salisbury Arms in the Southside.

The bar was recently named pub of the year at the Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards.

The magazine’s Tom Cullen said: “For two years we’ve been visiting the finest gastropubs across the country, tasting not just the food but the ales and wines. We thought it was time to doff our collective cap at those that aren’t just good, but are superb.”
