A 55-YEAR-OLD woman was left with a head injury yesterday after being hit by a van in Leith.Emergency services rushed to Great Junction Street following the collision to treat the woman for a gash to her head.

Witnesses told how the woman was hit by a white van moments after she began to wheel her shopping trolley across the street in busy traffic shortly before 1.30pm.

Police said no charges had been brought against the driver.
