Seized crime cash is a hit

YOUNG musicians have been handed a £12,000 boost thanks to cash seized from criminals.

Six emerging acts aged 16 to 21 from the Verden Demo Project are set to hold a showcase concert after making their first recordings. The musicians yesterday met culture secretary Fiona Hyslop at Market Street venue Electric Circus. The cash was awarded as part of the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Creativity programme. Singer-songwriter Holly Wilson said: “I’ve managed to achieve something that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do.”
