Second march planned to force hate figure from his new home

PROTESTERS have planned a second march in their bid to force Greens out of his home.

They will take to the streets on Monday at 6.30pm, leaving from two separate locations before converging on the rapist’s secluded cottage.

A previous march saw hundreds of protesters descend on his home and organisers believe the repeat could see thousands take to the streets.

An online group calling for Greens to be moved now lists more than 12,000 members and a call has been put to each one to turn out to back the campaign.

Organiser Kelly Parry said: “We now have thousands of supporters and it is hoped that the majority of them will turn up.

“The powers-that-be are now beginning to take full notice of our campaign so we need to keep up the momentum.”

One section of the march will leave Newtongrange Park, while the second section will depart from Cockpen Church.

Organisers have asked that those wishing to take part be at either site for 6pm ready for a 6.30pm start.

Ms Parry added: “We ask those coming to please be responsible when parking. Bring placards and your singing voice, we wish this to be a peaceful protest.”

A large police presence is expected to marshal the crowds to Greens’ home, where marchers will again chant behind council-erected metal barriers.

Protests have been ongoing outside his home night and day, with a Portaloo and makeshift campsite now erected.

Campaigners have also held talks over refusing to pay rent or council tax to Midlothian Council if Greens is not moved.
