RNIB counts on help with Sooty boxes

THE Royal National Institute of Blind People has launched an urgent appeal for volunteers in the Capital.

The charity is searching for people to give up their time to empty its Sooty collection boxes, which are placed throughout the city.
Scott Jobson, fundraising manager, said it takes two hours to empty four boxes and eight hours to empty 12.

He added: “This would help us identify the right equipment and support for a blind or partially-sighted child to get the most out of their schooling.

“[Giving up your] time will open doors for youngsters with sight loss.

“We urgently need people with flexible ‘Sooty-time’ to give.”
