Researcher on her marks

A RENOWNED researcher based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary is to take part in a half marathon tomorrow in aid of national baby charity
Tommy’s.

Professor Jane Norman, who heads the hospital’s Tommy’s research centre, which looks into ways to alleviate risks of maternal obesity, is making her final preparations ahead of the London Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.

She will be joined by two members of her medical research team at Edinburgh University’s Centre for Reproductive Health, Andrew Horne and Alastair Campbell.

The work the team do is seen as being vital, with obesity levels spiralling among women in Scotland.

The trio have collectively raised £2000 so far for
Tommy’s, which is more than double their initial target.
