Reprieve for city nightclub

ONE of the Capital’s leading nightclubs has been given a temporary reprieve.

Managers at the Bongo Club had been told to quit the premises in Holyrood Road by owner Edinburgh University.

Now university bosses have agreed to allow the Bongo to stay there until early next year, although they said they would press ahead with plans to turn the club into classrooms.

Bongo manager Ally Hill said: “The extension gives us time to take forward promising partnerships to enable the club to flourish in new premises.”
