Pupils show off brave art

THE work of pupils at schools in Edinburgh and the Lothians is to feature in an exhibition on William Wallace.

Special Delivery: The William Wallace Letters exhibition will be hosted at the Scottish Parliament from August 15.

Work by pupils from Canal View Primary School in Edinburgh, Croftmalloch Primary School in Whitburn, West Lothian, and the city’s Wester Hailes Education Centre will be displayed on audio-visual screens and panels.

Among the items on display will be a 700-year-old letter believed to have been in the Wallace’s possession, and the Lübeck letter, written in 1297 assuring continental allies Scotland was “open for business”.

The exhibition, which involved schools from across Scotland, has been developed in partnership with National Records of Scotland.
