Promoter is banned from Fringe venues

A PROMOTER at this years Fringe has been kicked out of two venues before even arriving in the Capital.

Catch Comedy, raising money for MacMillan Cancer Care, had its five-night run at the Acoustic Music Centre pulled after the venue owners objected to the name of one of the acts performing. Organiser Katie Yossarian offered to remove the offending act – K**t and the Gang – but was told it was too late as the show had already been advertised.

The show was then pulled from Cafe Camino, part of the Catholic St Mary’s Parish Centre, when comments surfaced that Yossarian had made on her blog.

The shows will now take place at strip club The Sapphire Rooms. The Gang won the Malcolm Hardee Cunning Stunt Award at the 2011 Fringe after placing stickers of male genitalia over other acts’
posters.
