Postal delivery methods to change in south of Capital
POSTAL deliveries to thousands of addresses in the south of the Capital are to be changed under modernisation plans.
Royal Mail bosses said changes to deliveries in the EH16 and EH17 post code areas would be introduced over the next few weeks, with employees using new delivery methods and following revised routes.
They said the changes, which will affect around 22,000 addresses, were being made because fewer letters are being sent by post, with deliveries of larger parcels increasing in number.
They said many customers would continue to receive their post by lunchtime and that the new measures would boost efficiency.
Gary Yard, Royal Mail collections and delivery manager, said: “The changes will mean that a member of our local and experienced team will still be delivering to our customers in Edinburgh.
“The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service.”
