Pool group’s having party

A CAMPAIGN group to save Leith Waterworld is having a party for its first birthday.

More than 50 residents set up Splashback on November 30 last year and will mark the anniversary with a party.

The group’s initial bid to buy the pool was rejected by the city council, but they were given until the end of January to produce a more detailed proposal.

Campaigner Ida Maspero said: “We’re optimistic we can secure the future of 
Edinburgh’s only fun pool for families.”
