Planned Lidl store ‘will create traffic chaos’

A SUPERMARKET slated for construction close to a busy junction in the Capital will create “traffic chaos”, locals have warned.
The attack came after international discount chain Lidl confirmed it wants to build a store in Inchview Terrace in the east of the city.
Lidl bosses said the store would create up to 30 jobs and feature a 48-bay car park.
But residents said a new supermarket would make already congested roads intolerable and undermine small businesses.
Local car mechanic Arfan Singh, 27, said: “With all the people coming in and out of central Edinburgh, and people using this supermarket, I think there will be chaos on the roads.”

Alasdair Fowle, Lidl public relations manager, said: “The feedback from the local community so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
