Parly play explores justice

LOTHIANS MSP Neil Findlay will team up with union Unite Scotland and theatre company Townsend Productions to host a special one-off free event at the Scottish Parliament next Tuesday.

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists is billed as “an evening of working-class debate”, featuring Unite Scotland’s secretary Pat Rafferty, Pat McIlvogue, Scottish learning organiser for Unite, and Tommy Kane of West Lothian Trades Council and Better Way Campaign.

Talks will be sparked by a play telling the story of a group of house painters who are joined by Owen, an artist and journeyman-prophet with a vision of a just society.

Mr Findlay said: “The messages it contains are more relevant today than ever. This is a must for anyone who hates exploitation and injustice.”
