Olympic torch arrives in Edinburgh
John Wasyl Beaton-Hawryluk carries the Olympic Flame on the Torch Relay leg through Hopetoun House
CROWDS flocked on to the streets of the Capital tonight as the Olympic torch made its way through the city.
The flame arrived in West Lothian earlier this afternoon and stopped off at Hopetoun House before heading into Edinburgh.
The relay began at Asda in Chesser Avenue before travelling through Shandon en route to Edinburgh Castle ahead of the Emeli Sande-headlined concert.
Towards the end of the two-hour performance, the last torchbearer of the day, Lesley Forrest, will light a cauldron on stage.
Ms Forrest, 54, received a kidney transplant in 1996 and a year later started competing in the British Transplant Games with the Scotland team. She became a multiple medallist in both the British and World Transplant Games.
