New service heads east
TIMETABLES for a new bus service riding to the rescue of marooned communities in East Lothian have been unveiled.
Dubbed East Lothian Buses, the new operator – which is part of Lothian Buses – has announced details of a new route which will replace services lost following huge cutbacks by rival First Bus.
The new 113 bus runs every half hour from the Western General Hospital to Easter Pencaitland in East Lothian, with extra buses during morning and evening rush hours.
The service will come into effect on June 11, the day after First Buses’ withdrawal from East Lothian takes hold, meaning there should be no gap in public transport operations.
