MSP lauds shoppers in schools scheme

AN MSP from the Capital has praised a scheme which saw more than £13,000 worth of IT and sports equipment given to schools and clubs in his constituency.

Last year, 63 schools and clubs in the Edinburgh Pentlands area collected 482,529 vouchers for the Tesco for Schools and Clubs initiative.

Gordon Macdonald attended a presentation when the equipment was handed to youngsters.

The MSP said: “Tesco for Schools and Clubs is a great scheme, which provides valuable extra resources for our schools and clubs.

“The beauty of this scheme is that it brings the whole community together to support the local school whether it is Bonaly, Clovenstone or Oxgangs.

“You could see from the faces of the pupils that they are looking forward to using the IT and sports equipment. So I thank all the pupils and teachers, the parents and family members, neighbours and friends for collecting so many vouchers.”
