Model of care home on show

Residents in Penicuik can now find out more about a planned new care home in the town.

A 3D-model of the development is the centre piece of a display at Penicuik Library.

The development is based on an approach adopted elsewhere in the UK which provides an alternative to traditional residential care.

Expected to open in autumn 2013, the new building will feature 32 apartments and a community hub, and will replace Pentland House Care Home, which by then will no longer meet national care standards.
