Maths prizes add up for pupil

A LORETTO School pupil has been awarded three maths accolades in a UK competition.

Lawrence Bissell, 13, from Inveresk, achieved a Gold Award and certificates for the “Best in Year” and “Best in School” in the Junior Mathematics Challenge, which attracts tens of thousands of entries.

Loretto’s Jonathan Hewat, said: “Only about the top ten per cent of pupils are awarded the Gold certificate, so Lawrence has done exceptionally well.”
