Maths day for gifted pupils

GIFTED young mathematicians from across Scotland were today honing their skills at an Edinburgh University event.

Nearly 100 pupils from S2 and S3 were taking part in a day of activities at King’s Buildings. The children took part in puzzles, quizzes and masterclasses, which were designed to stimulate their problem-solving skills and give them some insight into how maths is useful outside of the curriculum.

Among those taking part were winners of the UK Maths Challenge.
