Man dies after bring hit by lorry

A man has died after he was hit by a lorry on a city bypass.

The man, who was in his thirties, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving in hospital in Edinburgh.

The collision happened at about 11.40pm on the bypass half a mile east of the Sheriffhall roundabout in Edinburgh.

The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

Lothian and Borders Police have appealed for witnesses.
