Man charged after crash

A CITY motorist has been charged with careless driving after a three-vehicle smash on the A68 in the Borders on Monday afternoon.

Three people were taken to Borders General Hospital with minor injuries following the accident which closed the road at Newtown St Boswells for 90 minutes.

Lothian and Borders Police said one of the drivers, a 62-year-old man from Edinburgh, had been charged with careless driving and a report was being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
