Man, 60, seriously hurt after being hit by bus
A MAN is in a “serious condition” after he was hit by a bus in Edinburgh.
The 60-year-old was involved in the incident at the busy junction of South Clerk Street and East Preston Street just before 1.30pm today.
It is unknown how the incident happened but the man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance for treatment.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “The call came in at 1.30pm and it was a collision between an elderly man and a bus.
“It happened on the junction between South Clerk Street and East Preston Street and the road was then closed by officers.
“The man was in a serious condition and taken to the ERI.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 1.24pm and transported a 60-year-old male with serious injuries to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
“The full extent of his injuries are unknown.”
