Make a splash for lifeboats

AN air-sea rescue display will be the centrepiece of the Queensferry lifeboat open day this weekend.

The “spectacular” show will involve an RAF helicopter and the lifeboat, while other emergency services will also put on displays.

David Steel, chairman of Queensferry Lifeboat Fundraising Branch, said: “Attractions include Frankie & Benny’s burger and hot food stall, emergency services displays, Loretto School pipe band, army cadets climbing wall, Myra’s Catering Corner, with special kiddies meal deals and lots more.

“Come along and support your local lifeboat station.”

The open day will take place on Sunday at the RNLI station on the Hawes promenade in South Queensferry.

The event will begin at noon and is scheduled to last for four hours.
