Large crack closes road

A SECTION of road near Dalkeith has been closed after a large crack appeared on the surface.

Police said they had shut the A68 at Lugton Brae at around 4pm yesterday because of  subsidence.

Diversions are in place and motorists were warned they could last for some time while the problem is dealt with. Council officials were due to review the situation today.

The A6106 Old Dalkeith Road in Dalkeith was closed in both directions between the Melville Gate Road junction and the London Road junction.
