AN artistic schoolboy who became an internet star after he raised thousands for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation with his drawings has switched paper for fabric to design commemorative T-shirts for the charity.

Jack Henderson, seven, has used his talents to help with the SKFF’s 20th anniversary celebrations after designing a T-shirt featuring a unique heart symbol and his signature.

The T-shirts can now be purchased at www.edinburghsick
kids.org or from the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children shop. Jack has also designed a Christmas-themed T-shirt, which will go on sale from October.

Jack has already raised more than £32,000 for the charity, which provides funding for equipment and projects at the Sick Kids hospital, and the T-shirt is now expected to provide a further boost. The youngster, from Prestonpans in East Lothian, achieved worldwide fame last year when he launched a campaign to raise money for the SKFF after his three-year-old brother Noah was treated at the hospital for bronchiloitis

The budding artist offered to draw anything anyone requested of him in exchange for donations to the Foundation, and after Jack created his very own website, jackdrawsanything.com, with the help of his father, Ed, he saw demand for his drawings exceed even his wildest imagination.

Initially setting out to raise £100 for the Foundation, Jack ended up raising the staggering £32,000 sum, with his creations commissioned from as far afield as Australia.

Jack said: “So many people have been very generous and helped me raise a lot of money for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.”

Jack’s T-shirts are available in two sizes, ages 3-4 and 5-6, and cost £5 each. His book “Jack Draws Anything” is on sale now.
