Good work, mean job

TWO firms have received awards for supporting employment in Midlothian.

Shoe Zone and BAM Construction received accolades at the Midlothian Employment Action Network (MEAN) conference 2012, held in Loanhead.

Shoe Zone was recognised for the support it has given to the Jobcentre Plus work experience programme, while BAM Construction received an award for providing opportunities for employment, training and sub contractors on the Lasswade Community Campus project.

Co-ordinated by Midlothian Council, MEAN helps to improve the chances for people to get a job and brings together organisations in the county.
