Gang of four break man’s jaw

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in the Gorgie area of the city on Tuesday evening.

The 31-year-old victim was walking along Gorgie Road towards Stewart Terrace at around 5.30pm with his friend. At the junction with Wardlaw Place, a group of four males approached them and assaulted him.

His 25-year-old friend attempted to intervene, however the four males made off in an unknown direction.

The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where it was discovered he had sustained a broken jaw.

The suspects are described as being of Asian appearance.
