Game on for fundraiser

OLYMPIC hopeful Lynsey Sharp has launched a
£10 million fundraising drive in the run-up to Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Ms Sharp, who is from the Capital and will compete in the women’s 800m event at the London Games, was joined by former cancer patients Laura Graham and Catherine Lawlor, who are also from Edinburgh, at Meadowbank Stadium yesterday.

Ms Graham, 31, was diagnosed with a non-aggressive form of bladder cancer in 2008, while Ms Lawlor, 48, developed breast cancer 14 years ago.

Macmillan Cancer Support wants more than 50,000 Scots to take part in its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 28 to raise more than £10.7m.
