Four in hospital after road smash

FOUR people have been taken to hospital, including a young girl, after a collision involving a car and two vans.

The accident happened on the A89 between the junction for Uphall Station and Broxburn at around 8.15am today.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release two women aged 41 and 50, as well as a 12-year-old girl, from the car. They were taken to St John’s Hospital by ambulance where they were treated for minor injuries.

A 50-year-old man was also taken to St John’s by ambulance after complaining of neck pain.

Fire crews from Broxburn, Livingston and Bathgate attended.
