Fort targets infant market

EDINBURGH’S Fort Kinnaird shopping park is targeting young families and expectant mums with a new Mamas and Papas babywear store opening on Saturday.

Shopper numbers were reported up 18 per cent for the recent weekend opening of the new Smyths toy superstore.

With stores such as Toys R Us and Mothercare already among the 55 retailers at Fort Kinnaird, the shopping park is seeking to tap into the young families and “families-to-be” market.

Liam Smith, centre manager at Fort Kinnaird, said: “Baby boom or not it’s great when new stores bring more choice for our family shoppers. Fort Kinnaird now has so much to offer in the toys and nursery products sectors that we have become a one-stop venue for mums, dads, toddlers and
children.”
