Food news: Taster evening is ahead of game

IF you fancy a night out of town, general manager Mark Slaney and head chef Riad Peerbux of The Horseshoe Inn in Peebles are hosting a special game tasting and autumn harvest night on August 25.

• The head chef from the award-winning Ducks restaurant will be unveiling his best tips at an event which is encouraging Edinburgh residents to discover more about East Lothian’s attractions.

Jonny Dunbar, head chef at Ducks at Kilspindie House in Aberlady, will be giving free live cooking demonstrations on Thursday from 4pm to 6pm at St Andrew Square. He will be using local produce for people to sample to encourage them to visit the restaurant or try making the dishes.
