Folk hero on bill as festival vows to be the biggest yet
ORGANISERS of the annual Linlithgow Folk Festival believe the traditional music event promises to be the biggest in their 14-year history.
A five-day programme of music will feature two major concerts, two ceilidhs, children’s events, musical cruises and performances at the Canal Centre, pub sessions and the outdoor Nora Devine Stage at the Cross.
The headline concert will see UK folk legend Ralph McTell, best known for his 1974 hit Streets of London and among the biggest stars ever to perform at the event, make his first return to the festival in seven years. Also set to perform are the White Top Mountain Band from Virginia.
Festival co-ordinator Trish Santer said “Given last year’s great success, we are not resting on our laurels and feel that the programme has something for the whole community.”
The 14th Linlithgow Folk Festival runs from September 5-9.
