EAST Lothian MP Fiona O’Donnell is to host a public meeting to discuss the introduction of food banks at 7.30pm in The Town House, Haddington, on June 6.

Ewan Gurr, Scotland development officer of the Trussell Trust, will also be present to explain how the food banks operate and what part local residents can play.

The Trust will provide support and training to the proposed food banks whilst volunteers will organise collections and distribution.
