Festival bans legal highs

LEGAL highs have been banned from T in the Park after the death of a local teenager at another festival.

In contrast to previous years, where legal and “herbal” highs were sold openly at the site, organisers have said anyone now caught with such substances will have them confiscated.

The move follows the death last month of Portobello teenager Alex Heriot at the RockNess festival. The 19-year old is believed to have taken the legal high Benzo Fury.

A spokesman for T in the Park said: “Legal or herbal highs are not permitted on site.”
