Eva checks bamboo is bearable

THREE-YEAR-OLD Eva Jones got her teeth into some bamboo at a new plantation unveiled at Edinburgh Zoo.

The plantation will help feed panda pair Tian Tian and Yang Guang, who each munch their way through at least 20kg of bamboo every day.

The plantation, which zoo bosses plan to develop further, comes after the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland said it had been offered bamboo supplies from sources throughout Scotland and the UK.
