Entrepreneur support centre to be set up

A NEW centre supporting Scotland’s next generation of entrepreneurs is to be established in the Capital.

Entrepreneurial Spark’s business “hatchery” will open as 50 start-up firms in the east of Scotland are invited to take part in the scheme.

Stagecoach co-founder Ann Gloag will be the centre’s entrepreneur in residence.

Each of the fledgling companies will receive advice on networking, business plans and pitch ideas from managers at RBS, which has provided £375,000 over three years to support the project.

Entrepreneurial Spark co-founder Jim Duffy said its scheme had already supported a number of sustainable businesses. He said: “We want to know that [those taking part] have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We make them investable by working on their mindset and how they
behave.”
