Embroiderers to stitch in time for 2014

THE team behind the Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry is now planning a global work to celebrate the influence of Scots across the world.

The Scottish Diaspora Tapestry, which will be displayed as part of the 2014 Homecoming celebrations, will feature embroidered QR codes, directing smartphone users to background information about each panel such as the history behind what is depicted, the embroiderers and the communities they come from.

Pictured with the tapestry is one of its supporters, retired Sikh businessman Baron Sirdar Iqbal Singh.
