Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Five things to do tomorrow

FIVE Fringe shows to check out for tomorrow, including a musical about an unforgettable holiday and the ‘ultimate Jacques Brel tribute’

THEATRE

HALF A PERSON: MY LIFE AS TOLD BY THE SMITHS: This year sees the 25th anniversary of the split of The Smiths, which explains why Morrissey is the subject of two shows at this year’s Fringe. This one centres on William, who drifts from coffee shop to bar, falling in love, self-obsessing and finding solace in The Smiths. Zoo Southside, 7.50pm, £8 (£6), 0131-623 3030

COMEDY

SHAPPI KHORSANDI – DIRTY LOOKS: She’s one of the hottest comedy prospects in the country and the latest show from the Fringe stalwart draws its laughs from her recent, ill-fated affair with a rock star. Pleasance Courtyard, 8.30pm, £12 (£10.50), 0131-623 3030

MUSICAL

DEPARTURE LOUNGE: Four teenagers, one delayed flight and a holiday they’ll never forget. A hit at last year’s Fringe. Paradise in Augustine’s, 10.30pm, £6 (£4), 0131-623 3030

MUSIC

PETER STRAKER’S BREL: This has been called the ultimate tribute to Jacques Brel from the ultimate showman – and it doesn’t fall far short of the hype.

Assembly Hall, 6pm, £13 (£12), 0131-623 3030

KIDS

THE SNAIL AND THE WHALE: Tall Stories company (creators of The Gruffalo) are back with their latest Julia Donaldson adaptation. Kids are going to love the amazing journey of the tiny snail, told through storytelling, laughter and music.

Pleasanse Courtyard, 3pm, £9.50 (£8.50),
0131-623 3030
