Easter Play is resurrected in Gardens

The Easter Play is returning this year following funding problems

THE Easter Play returned to Princes Street Gardens on Good Friday, as five people took turns at reading from the Bible.

The popular production will return tomorrow for a reduced version of the play which once drew crowds of more than 3000 people.

The production took a brief hiatus last year due to funding problems, but the Easter Play Trustees hope a smaller retelling this year will help attract the sponsors needed to make it a regular on the city’s Easter calendar once more.
