Drunk threatened police with two kitchen knives
A MAN threatened police officers with two 12-inch kitchen knives after locking himself in his home.
Livingston Sheriff Court heard that Robert Patterson’s ex-partner called police after he threatened to commit suicide during a booze binge.
When police arrived he subjected them to a torrent of abuse and brandished the blades at them from inside the house.
After the officers finally managed to get him to open the door he threatened to stab them and had to be overpowered.
Patterson. 46, of Livingston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence at the court yesterday.
He earlier pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner at his home in Hobart Street.
Sheriff Martin Edington fined Patterson £300 to be paid in fortnightly instalments of £10. He said: “If you miss one payment you’ll be sentenced to the alternative of a supervised attendance order for 60 hours.”
