Crime checks agreed

POLICE have agreed a deal to stop East Lothian Council contracts being obtained by criminals.

Senior council officials will now be able to ask the police for information relating to individuals linked to the company bidding to supply services.

East Lothian area commander, Superintendent Phil O’Kane, said: “This will allow us to keep services of a high standard.”
