Crews tackle spilled milk

FIREFIGHTERS rushed to tackle an early morning milk spillage after 1500 litres was tipped on to the M8 following a crash between a lorry and a van.

The huge spillage, which occurred between Junctions two and three in West Lothian, was cleared up by firefighters using absorbent granules.

The east-bound carriageway was closed for almost four hours following the 2.45am accident.

Four appliances attended the scene and a man was taken to St John’s Hospital in Livingston with minor injuries.

The other driver refused to go to hospital.
