Couple in blaze drama

A MAN and woman were treated for the effects of smoke after a fire broke out at their flat in Granton.

Fire crews also rescued a cat and two kittens after being called to the ground-floor property in Heron Place at 6.53pm yesterday.

The bedroom of the flat was extensively damaged in the fire. The 44-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were treated at the scene.

Investigators are trying to discover the cause of the fire.
