Councillors hail forces
COUNCILLORS in East Lothian will join other Scottish authorities in raising a flag to mark national Armed Forces Day.
The standard will fly for June 30 event, which takes place every year to celebrate the UK’s armed forces.
A ceremony will be held to raise the armed forces flag at the Town House, Haddington, on June 25, from 10.30am.
Provost Ludovic Broun-Lindsay said: “The sacrifice, dedication and professionalism of our armed forces deserves our support and recognition.
“By raising the flag, we are helping to demonstrate our appreciation for service personnel, past and present.”
