Commonwealth Pool to hold 2014 Games preview

PEOPLE living near the Royal Commonwealth Pool are being invited to a drop-in session to find out more about temporary structures planned for next year’s Commonwealth Games.

The pool will host the diving events for the 2014 Glasgow Games, where Olympic star Tom Daley is expected to be a major draw.

Temporary structures are needed to provide facilities for spectators, athletes, media and officials. Games organisers are staging a drop-in session at the pool on Tuesday, March 5, from 3-7pm, to brief residents on the implications, including security, access and traffic measures.

Games boss Ralph Ord said: “Temporary changes in and around the Royal Commonwealth Pool are needed to deliver an outstanding diving event and have been designed to minimise inconvenience to the local community.”
