Children ready to join wild party for pandas’ birthdays

Edinburgh Zoo has announced a programme of events for youngsters to help celebrate the giant pandas’ ninth birthdays.

Special activities will be held next Tuesday, when Yang Guang turns nine, and on August 24, when Tian Tian celebrates her birthday.

Face painters will be on hand to turn children into a panda or another favourite
animal.

There will also be competitions, the chance to decorate a birthday cake, paint your own panda and write birthday messages for Yang Guang and Tian Tian.

Youngsters can also get stuck into making a macaroni pasta panda that will go on
display at the zoo before enjoying a panda bear picnic.

Booking for a panda viewing, which will take place at 11am only, is essential.

To book, visit www.
