Charity stages music night to raise funds

MUSIC fans will have the chance to hear three bands at a gig in the Capital tonight to promote this year’s Oxjam festival.

Ahead of the month-long music festival to raise funds for Oxfam in October, the Oxjam Edinburgh Takeover Team is holding a promotional night at the Electric Circus in Market Street.

Bands Monsters On Movie Posters, The Spook School and Letters will play at the event, which runs from 8pm to 10.30pm. Three karaoke rooms have also been booked so wannabe rock stars can try out some singing too.

Oxjam co-ordinator Laurie McIntosh said: “This will be a great night and shows how Oxjam is a fantastic chance for people who love music to get involved in their local scene.”
